12 Days of Christmas Workout
4 CommentsHow to make a festive finisher for your young athletes
When dealing with young people before Christmas, it is important to change the pace and style of delivery to keep them fresh and engaged.
Here is an example of a finisher I have done with some athletes over the last week.
“On the first day of Christmas my true love gave to me…
1 L- Pull up (or bear crawl, or 400 m run or 200 m row). Something hard for the person concerned.
On the second day of Christmas my true love gave to me..
2 Turkish Get ups
And 1 L-Pull up.
And so on
3rd day- Burpees,
4th day- 1\2 pikes
5th day Hindu press ups
6th day Hindu Squats
7th day Parallel curls
8th day back twisties
9th day parallel presses
10th day pull ups
11th day squat jumps
12th day alternate v sits
You can change the variation and weight to suit your athletes. Be aware that the higher reps are challenging, the lower reps can be hard exercises as cumulatively 10-12 sets gets a training effect.
This takes about 20 minutes, so you can get your main training done beforehand. .
Enjoy and Merry Christmas
