How to stay fit in the summer holidays

But, you don’t want to turn up for school or matches that start in September out of shape.
As a young athlete, you will benefit from variety and fun.
You don’t need to be flogged with senior players, nor do you want to get bored.
Follow this rough guide of activity and you will be well prepared for pre-season.
- Varied activities: Swimming, walking the dog, cycling, Frisbee, tree climbing, horse riding, surfing, camping and hiking.
- Games Play: beach volleyball, tennis, pick up football.
- Foundation work: Mini bands, hip series, 5x5x5, core programme, single leg squats.
- Resistance Training: Weights programme, circuits.
- Sport Specific: Your own sport training.
- Screen time: TV, computers, tablet, games console, smartphone (yes that does include hours on Facebook!).
